Last night was Wrestlemania, and today, by nature of me being me, I watched Wrestlemania. My first thought? I wish I could have found an HD feed. My second thought? Fuck, this is so much better then that shitty Cameron Diaz movie I watched last night! I mean, seriously, I heard The Box was bad, but with a premise like that how bad could it really be?

The answer is horrid. Beyond horrid. Diaz’s character having one toe being a plot point horrid. They took a premise as cool as “Press this button and someone dies and you get rich” and turned it into a suspense movie where….now don’t kid yourself, this movie had to be suspense, but they put it all into the wrong avenues. Like they couldn’t figure out what was best for keeping us on the edges of our seats. It honestly watched like a TV show where they can’t figure out which way the viewers want to see it go.

I could have been watching Wrestlemania. That’s what I keep telling myself. Fuck, I could have watched Jennifer’s Body again and had a better experience. It was pretty crap as well, but you know what? I was actually engaged with it for the first forty-five minutes. Know what I did twenty minutes into The Box? Went to my cousins. Bailed on the movie the first chance I got.

Now though, I have another thirty minutes of work, and then it’s off to Passover dinner. Lots of talking….LOTS of fucking talking, but hey, brisket. And then after, it’s Monday. Monday means Chuck….Raw too, but mainly Chuck.

And here comes Jill so….off to work I go.

This should feel like a conflict of interests to someone as pro-partying as me, and yet….I’m fine with it. I work today, there’s a new South Park tonight, maybe I’ll watch a movie or something after that. But I just have no real solid urge to go get drunk.

Call it being boring, call it being lame, but I just…..I don’t want to drink green beer until I puke. I’d like to think of that as an ever expanding maturity.

What the Gods call….Wrestlemania

So this is going to seem all lax and late and “Oh, there’s no way you’re being honest! You couldn’t have done that!”, but I’m going to post what my predictions were for the Wrestlemania 26 card. These were made either the day of the Elimination Chamber, or the day after, and were spurred on by my being at the Chamber PPV.

John Cena vs Batista
Edge vs Chris Jericho
Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker
Triple H vs Sheamus

Obviously those weren’t too hard to pick out, and each found its way onto the card.

Now, when Christian won the first Money in the Bank qualifier I was a bit thrown off as I was given the impression the concept was being moved to it’s own PPV, so seeing that it wasn’t the case, I immediately threw together my list of the guys who should (or probably would) wind up in the match.

John Morrison
Jack Swagger

I then noted that I would have put in Punk and Rey, but that they would most likely wind up getting a singles match….which they are. Possibly with a mask vs hair gimmick.

But anyway, John Morrison failed to qualify, and Kofi has yet to get a qualifier, but it’s going to be a ten man match this year featuring…

Gotta expect Kofi, who has been a top star on Raw for months now, and is still without a match at Mania, will fill out the Money in the Bank match, and most likely will win it.

Now there’s Legacy, because at one point I would have penciled in Randy Orton vs Kofi Kingston for Wrestlemania, but due to how slow the blow apart of the team was, I expected to see Randy vs. Cody. vs Ted at the big one, and you know what? They’re on the card.

To be honest, completely honest, the only two matches on the card I didn’t call are ShowMiz vs JoMo and R-Truth and Vince vs Bret. I know, kick myself over Vince vs Bret, but I figured that they would leave the title on Sheamus and have Hunter face him for the belt, and do Batista vs Cena much in the way they did Lashley vs Umaga a few years ago, have them fight in the names of the non-wrestlers to spare us a potentially horrendous match.

Not to know Bret, but one or two strokes, a career ending concussion, and ten years out of the ring…..he’s the best there ever was, sure. Ever will be….possibly. The best there is, however? No, not right now, and as much as I love the Hitman, I’m expecting the worst. And by that, I mean I’m expecting then to go no more then eight minutes and Bret to beat Vince while good guys wrestlers keep bad guy wrestlers from helping him. I expect to see Bret win, and the Hart Dynasty to get their paydays celebrating with him after the match. And then I expect him to manage that little crew for a few months as they approach the tag titles.

There are probably a few more matches to be announced, as I don’t see any women on the card, but let’s do this right.

John Cena will defeat Batista for the WWE Championship
Edge will defeat Chris Jericho for the World Heavyweight Championship
Sheamus will defeat Triple H as Hunter takes a vacation
The Undertaker will defeat Shawn Michaels, and both will take extended vacations. The match will NOT be as good as last years.
Rey Mysterio will defeat CM Punk if the mask is on the line, if not, then I’ll reevaluate this pick before Mania.
Bret Hart will beat Vince McMahon
ShowMiz will defend successfully against JoMo and R-Truth
Randy Orton will win the battle of the Legacy
Kofi Kingston will be Mr. Money in the Bank, but Evan Bourne and Shelton Benjamin will compete for most awesome spots of the night.
